Creamy Bacon Carbonara

2 Person - Creamy Bacon Carbonara

Ingredients

 

o   200g

Bacon

o   100g

Mushrooms

o   1/2

Onion

o   2

Cloves Garlic

o   150ml

Cream

o   1/2

Creamy Pasta Seasoning

o   150g

Spaghetti Pasta

o   1/2

Broccoli

Pantry Staples

 

o   1

Egg

o   1/4 cup

Water

 

Salt + Pepper

o   2 Tablespoons

Oil

 

Method

1.   Finely dice the onion and garlic. Chop the mushrooms and dice the bacon.

2.     Bring a large saucepan of water to the boil (preparation to cook the pasta)

3.     Add the pasta to the saucepan of boiling water and cook for 8-10 mins, drain the water once cooked

4.   Add oil to a large pot or pan with high sides. Sautee the onions and garlic over meduim heat for 2 minutes. Add the mushrooms and bacon.

5.   Saute for 5 minutes, or until mushrooms are cooked.

6.   When the spaghetti is cooked, drain well and add to the pan.

7.   Mix the water, seasoning packet, cream and egg together in a small container and pour into the pan with the spaghetti.

8.   Cook through for 2-5 minutes or until the sauce has thickened and coated the spaghetti.

9.     Place broccoli in a pot with 1 cup of water. Bring to boil with lid on and cook for 5 minutes. Drain the water and set aside.

10. Season to taste and add some grated cheese to garnish if you wish.
